Bob and Terry Steen are co-owners of Nationwide Lifts of Massachusetts. Bob began his career as a carpenter/framer obtaining his Home Improvement License and Construction Supervisor license (C.S.L) at a very young age. His father being an elevator mechanic and then a state inspector later in his career, persuaded Bob to join the Local 4 Elevator Union in 1996. After several years of installing commercial elevators and wheelchair lifts he started his own elevator company in 2004. With his deep seeded passion in the home building industry, he began switching gears towards the residential elevator market.
Terry’s business career started at the early age of fourteen working after school as a part-time office assistant for her father’s crane business. Upon graduating from Northeastern University in 1992 with a concentration in accounting/finance she began her 20 plus years’ experience in the accounting/finance field. Being inspired by one of Bob’s residential wheelchair lift projects in 2007 for her father who suffered from Multiple Sclerosis, Terry became more involved in the company operations. Together with their vision of the growing need for home elevators and lifts, they became a franchise of Nationwide Lifts in October 2010. Since then, their sons Joe and Mike joined the company to follow their father’s and grandfather’s lead as third generation elevator mechanics.
Bob and Terry are lifelong residents of Massachusetts. They reside in Wilmington and enjoy gardening, yardwork and the great outdoors.
Joe Steen and Shannon Roche run the day-to-day operations of the Derry, NH office. Joe grew up in Wilmington, MA an avid wrestler and football player at a young age. He studied Metal Fabrication & Welding at Shawsheen Technical High school. He began his career at Nationwide Lifts during his Senior year of COOP. After graduating from high school, he continued his education through the NAEC CET program and earned his Massachusetts Elevator Mechanic’s License in 2019. Joe looks forward to expanding and taking over family business.
Shannon grew up in Billerica, MA and earned her bachelor’s degree at SNHU. She worked at Nationwide Lifts as a part-time office assistant while attending college. Upon college graduation she continued her career with Nationwide Lifts as fulltime office manager. She now operates the Derry, NH office while working towards her master’s degree in Business part-time.
Joe and Shannon reside in their lovely Derry home where they live with their rescue pets. They enjoy hiking and long walks with their dogs during their free time. They look forward to expanding the business up the up the coast of New Hampshire and Maine.
